ENERGY STAR® qualified amplifier — The XPA 1002 is an ENERGY STAR qualified, energy-efficient amplifier that helps you save energy and reduce costs.
Professional-grade signal-to-noise and THD+N performance — The XPA 1002 delivers professional-grade performance. It offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB with THD+N less than 0.05%.
Extron Patented CDRS™ Technology (Class D Ripple Suppression) — CDRS is a patented Extron technology that produces clear, consistent sound and improved signal fidelity over conventional Class D amplifier designs. CDRS eliminates high-frequency switching ripple, a source of RF emissions that can interfere with sensitive AV devices such as wireless microphones, which is typical of Class D amplifiers.
Fanless convection cooling — The XPA 1002 requires no fans or internal vents for cooling, ensuring quiet and reliable operation. It generates significantly less heat than conventional amplifiers and is ideal for rack-mount applications.
Extremely low inrush current: no power sequencing required —Allows multiple XTRA Series amplifiers to be powered simultaneously without overloading the power supply circuits. This feature eliminates the need for power sequencing.
Power Factor Correction: Removes harmonic content on the AC line — The XPA 1002 features Power Factor Correction technology that smooths out peaks in the amplifier's current draw, thereby minimizing the presence of high-frequency harmonics on the AC power line and preventing the transmission of audible artifacts to other audio devices in the system.
1U rack-mountable half-rack enclosure — The XPA 1002 reduces rack space requirements for many installations.
Plenum rated to UL 2043 when used with the optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit — The XPA 1002 meets UL 2043 smoke and heat release requirements for installation in plenum-rated ceiling ducts when used with the optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit, part number 70-228-02. Above-ceiling installation conceals the amplifier to prevent theft and is convenient for installing devices where room space is limited.
Auto power off with quick power on — The XPA 1002 meets ENERGY STAR qualification requirements with an auto-off feature that automatically switches the amplifier to standby mode after 25 minutes of inactivity, significantly reducing power consumption. It quickly returns to full operation in less than a second as soon as a signal is detected.
Adjustable level controls recessed on the rear panel —They provide input signal attenuation to adjust the gain stages of the audio system and two-zone applications. They are located on the rear panel to prevent unwanted changes to the settings made.
Automatic limiter circuit — Detects the actual onset of clipping by comparing input and output waveforms. Gain is automatically reduced without audible artifacts to protect speakers from sonic distortion caused by amplifier clipping.
